No mods at all? No "HD graphics"? (What does that mean anyway? Under 720p? Yuck)

Meh

Yea. Hopefully it will give us something to hack, but they won't allow mods. Probably gonna have to think of something else :D

Well, I'm pretty sure it'll let you load the official PBOs - otherwise there would be nothing in the game - which means... you'll probably be able to load a hack.

Unless they start using a new archiver, or use encryption.

If they don't do it for the paid game, I doubt they'll do it for the free version.

Also, just realized that no HD probably just means the textures... not the resolution.

I think it's floating around on a few pc magazine cover discs atm.

Also, I think it uses a different EXE from normal vanilla arma 2, called ArmA2Free.exe or something like that.

CBF looking further at the differences if I already own ArmA 2 :P

How do you think player bans will work?

It's the same thing, only you are limited to the editor, multiplayer, you can't use those mods you have to attach to Arma2 on the client side (ACE2, etc), and it has no Operation Arrowhead or DLC stuff. It's just a trial for 'Arma 2 multiplayer', and like when you join a server using a DLC pack you don't have, the textures and sound quality are set to 'very low'. It's still not a bad deal, free Arma2 online would just bring more players playing Chernarus type maps. It will be Arma2.exe minus the CD protection.. and who cares now that Arma3 is on the horizon. The only good 'hack' for this would be unlocking the high quality texture/sound stuff for free.. which would be piracy anyway and isn't really a problem in the first place. It's not a 'whole new game' like many of you seem to be thinking, wtf

Not as well as they would like.

I will admit that I'm quite curious about A2F - It will feature no modding support as far as I know and is supposed to come it 'this month'.

We'll see what happens :)

this game will be easy to hack... all youll need is common nolidge of scripting.  simple asm will do the most undetected damage.
changing textures to me is just a tool to do more , .... what will be the funnyist thing to me is when people start hacking this game thru java.

Only 8 days left in this month.
When is BI going to pull the thumb out of the ass and get the show on the road?
