Any way to fix fade?
« on: April 17, 2011, 02:01:13 am »
I decided to torrent Reinforcements so I could finally have the PMC's and BAF. But now FADE kicked in and my accuracy is shit...
It's been a good few years, becoming what I always wanted to be.

Find FADE in the code and kill it.

I think it might be triggered in the exe itself; I will have to debug it.
I came here to ask this because this seems to be the only place that actually does Arma hacking and everyone here knows what they're doing.

The exe has the code...an example of this if you used an early no-cd crack that "missed" a small part of the code after awhile it would trigger FADE.

The last official patch removed the need for the cd to be in the drive so I don't think much of the FADE code should be left.

FADE still checks the cd-key, so I guess you would need to memory breakpoint where the reg key gets stored and trace it from there.

Alright, did some testing and found out that it is involved with the .exe.

I ran "arma2RFT.exe" which is the pirated Reinforcements, and FADE started. Then I ran "arma2oa.exe" which is the legit one I paid for/ key and all that.

I think you can use a single key many times. If so, I could probably find a key that no one cares to share, use it in the installer, and use RFT for singleplayer only.

You can look at how FADE is triggered and tell it "it's OK".

It is the same way with BE/HB/PB/VAC.
