Is WPE safe?
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:26:48 pm »
I was trying to get WPE, but Norton deletes it from the archive!! I didn't even get a chance to extract it! o.O
It says it's a hacktool - which I was expecting, and when I do extract it, both files just disappear? Either Norton removes them or it's some sort of virus that vanishes?

Anyway, is there an alternative to WPE?
It's been a good few years, becoming what I always wanted to be.

You, my friend, don't have much experience with hacktoolz.

1) WPE is detected. The program, and WPE Spy.dll get listed as viruses.
2) Only way to make them NOT detected would be to either add them to the exclusion list of your AV, or to add the .zip file to the Exclusion list of your AV.
3) Even when you get that out, and make them excluded by your AV, you're still fucked:

BattleEye detects WPE as GameHack #20.

As always, there's a way around that, too.

I'm guessing the WPE here is safe right?

P.S. deezinyamouf, I'm sorry if you and I got off on the wrong start.

Like I said, anything can be safe. Just depends where you get it from.

something naughty.  :icon_shifty
Ah that is clever, never thought of that. The sig check is going on while your waiting for your lobby screen to fill up with names. After your lobby fills, WPE is no longer needed.

Does it even matter? Takes 5 seconds to download a hex editor.

Lol medic, edit your post too before someone does see it although I assume the BE developers have scripts in place to archive the content of this site every 30 seconds.  :icon_laugh
