ArmA2: OA, ID Change?
« on: July 22, 2010, 12:05:50 am »
Hi, a friend of mine and I are trying to play ArmA2:OA over Hamachi, if we make a dedicated server and disable battleeye in the config it doesn't check our key's, but the ID is the same for both of us even after changing keys, so one of us gets kicked or can't join. Does anyone know where / how to change the player ID so that we can play ?

Thanks

I'm gonna tell you exactly what anyone else who knows how to do it would tell you..

Get the Arma 2 ID Changer.

Don't ask how it works.

Don't ask how to use it.

Don't ask any questions.

Figure it out yourself.

Use search button.

If frustrated, smash head on computer, and use google.

BE does not check your key it checks your BE GUID.

If you both use the same key then you both have the same BI ID number...you change the ID number.

Got that sorted... seems we're triggering FADE somehow though. Installed the game from image, updated to 1.52, then latest 72197 beta patch, DTPro and mini image. Runs fine, no modifications to the exe, so not sure why. My only idea is they blacklisted the key in the exe in this patch.

The latest BI ArmA* patch as I know it hard codes "out of range" keyS.

If you look at the ArmA* EXE you will find everything you need to play without a real  or as $able @ BE calls it "verified" key.
The system they use is a compleat joke to thinking people.

But what do you mean by "look" at the Arma 2 EXE? Open it in a Debugger? I mean, what is one supposed to use to see what you're talking about?

It's so tempting to just answer "Sparkling Eyes Technique".

I know you're supposed to use a debugger. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at once I open the exe. I've never done any of this before, so I'm going to have to pick up on the basics of this stuff, somewhere.  :icon_sly

i tried keys from a keygen and they work fine with patch and you can play the game, but not multiplayer -- you always get "invalid cd-key".
i think someone mentioned somewhere (BI forum?) that they use a gameSpy db with sold keys.

inurl:"squad.xml"
Steal other peoples IDs!  :icon_laugh

You can get people's ID's ingame, and you don't need a squad.xml to do it. :P

z and anyone else of the pros, any way to bypass cd-keys on multi player too? would be great if i could circumvent my be ban on a specific server.

So called "bad keys" are hard coded in the games EXE via a patch so use ANY key that is withen the "good" range.
GameSpy checks NOTHING for this game (they are not paid...they don't work for free).

There is another way to connect to a server if GameSpy is involved....and you don't even need a key at all for games that GS does check keys.
Clearly I am not passing that information around to anyone as it would end all games, but the exploit has been with GS from it's start.

how you know? uh, i know, you work for BIS!!:D j/k

hm, if they are not paid why do arma have gamespy server browser then? they use it illegally? bis seems very naughty, hehe

no, again, my generated keys work fine except on multi player. patch didnt complain as said. too bad. :/
