Torrent Tracker on Fedora 9
« on: February 25, 2009, 08:00:27 pm »
I've got a problem with my Torrent Tracker(TT). I'm like a big noob with security on linux. The TT works, how ever I need to stop iptables for this. Is there anyone who knows what I should allow in iptables for it to work?

Its running on port 6969..

I started it with this:
"python /BitTorrent-5.2.2/bittorrent-tracker.py --port 6969 --dfile dstate --logfile tracker.log"

You should run via another port other than 6969...many ISP's block that port.
Go Google and get a list of port assignments and pick one that is "unassigned".

I will let the section Mod do as you asked with this thread after you have made a reply/comment.

a box independent way is to use netstat -an and bind to a unused port , good luck :)
