These Northern California wild fires are south and west of me. One whole town has been evacuated.

I have been busy cutting brush, grass, wildflowers withen 6 acres of my home for the past two days (only half done) to be ready for fire season.

For reference 1 acre is about 11 L.A. city sized homes and yards.
My new home is basically setting on 66 times more land.
I was a Officer in the FFA and two time California State prize winner decades ago when in High School.
[TKC]Vicious knows what knowledge and skills that takes.
It's time to get those "tomatoes" in high gear!
I expect $6 per LB with the price of fuel this year (Organic Market prices).

Just got back from fishing,we caught 15 rainbow and 9 broke trout.
Largest was 16 inch's.
Broke trout are in oven wrapped in bacon with tomatoes and onions.

Having a cocktail while they cook.
Life is good.

Here is a photo of my GF's nephew with me in the background.
This lake is about 6,500-7,000 feet and only the 3 of us were there.
Looks like I taught him to fish well enough eh?

Here is his blog if you can read Brasil (Brazil) style Portuguese.

California,here we come.

That lake above still had snow on the first day of July.
Down in the valley the reservoirs and cattle tanks all have catfish and bass.

Lots of deer and elk here also.
All those wildfires in the news have this place filled with smoke...yet the fires are 100 miles away.

I have been in a few movies over the past 30+ years...won't say which (no parts that pay royalties).
All "extra" parts except one that I had my real life name in credits for martial arts consultation and choreographing.
I think it was one of the best fights on the big screen in decades, pure raw life and death combat moves...but that's just my viewpoint.

I have allot of photo's and 60 seconds movies from this and last year up here that I just need to find time to u/l to an offsite host.

I know yourself and many others could get into viewing them.

So far this summer they have removed 409,877 pot plants -just- from this one county...and they only get about 10% of them all.

28F this morrning and due to snow as soon as the temps get down to 26F.

Weather at this altitude is subject to change...2PM and outside temps are up to 36F and all of the 2" of snow that was on the ground at sun up is gone even as some snow still comes drifting down.
Glad I am not camping out up at 6K+ fishing for trout today!

Inside my well insulated home it is a nice toasty 60F and I have still not turned any of the heaters on. I have electric,LP Gas and oil heaters...took out the wood heater to make room for the oil heater.
Wish I had room for both!
Basically I control the inside temps by just closing or opening the blinds and heavy drapes on the sunny side.
Even when it was 110F outside in mid July I never turned on the cooler, yet the house never got over 80F inside.

Found this foto and thought about sending the GF to go "pick up some meat for supper"...hehehe.

It's been awhile and I told Medic and Mr. Euro on TS today I would send some video.
This one is my mailbox...1 mile away from my driveway!
At the end I point towards my home, town is 4 miles the other direction.
My front fence by the road is 1/10 of a mile long and if you drive @ 60 MPH it takes just over 6 seconds to go from one end to the other.

Video attached.

EDIT:
Just noticed you have to be logged in to see the attachment.

Here is 2 photo's of our privet lake (about half of it if you add both photos).
The photo from car of road at the top of the hill by the lake and home is 1 mile away as the road turns into the trees.
1 mile to mailbox (south) or 1 mile to privet lake (north) with bass from my driveway.

Z, sounds like a great life change.

Not that I been (assuming your up the northern part of California) but flow over on the way from LA to Calgary, during last April.  I was amazed at how quick you leave the suburbia of LA, striahgt into the mountains (which I can now appreciate the prob's LA etc have had with wildfires), with snow covered peaks, and i'm assuming desert to the east of the range = all very spectacular from the air.

Will check out the vid's and pics later on.

Would be good to see more of the US, not jsut the glamorised LA/Hollywood version of the US.
