You could always try (if you got the game extracted), to move a texture or a .bes file to your game root directory and rename it to container.

yes I tried using the name of the container and also the name as it appears in the error log.  I've tried making both bes and dds of each, and placing them in the main dir of the game as well as the "g" dir for the game data.

Well what error message do you get when you play? Is it a pop-up? Because the dir should stand in it. It's no extension in the file either. It's hard to say wheter it's an ini file or not.

I can't say anything about that error log as I haven't made it. It's just debug infromation for the people who have the source/made the game.

actally when playing the game, you dont' get any sort of error message or pop up..  the game just completely crashes to the desktop. The only thing that I've been able to figure out is the iul_wooden container1#1   and I still don't know exactly what that is from or what it means.  The iul_wooden container object is in game already, I don't get it

If you have found its dir you could try to copy it and rename it to the #1 one.

I have also tried that without any luck.  I've been experimenting with placing copies of the renamed files into other locations it could be calling for, but no luck. At first, the sheild.dll files that I got for the v1.3 crash pack worked. And then somehow he got around it. Any more ideas?  Once again I really appreciate the help.

Well first off to solve anything we need to know the cause. That means how he does to crash a server. It' hard to do something without knowing it  :viet

So either Pterodon should look at the error report, then they will be able to do proper modifications in the source, or you could ask him how he does.

T.W. here is another  way to look at the problem....

Pterodon FINNALY fixed this in the 1.4/1.41 patch so use the extraction method and look inside the patch for the answer.

Oh...I was talking with Forrest and we both kinda think you should just use the FA demo......all the fixes and consol command are in it along with the extra map....you should be able to IP ban people as well.

but retail servers are no good for dialup connections. I know you all keep saying FA demo, and I know... but we like to play with other people to and dialup is no good. I'll have a look at the 1.41 patch and see what kind of what I might can get out of that. But I'm sure if I incorporate system stuff from that patch the demo will not work right.

Use it to set up your own server....or use VC/FA set up a server and let them use THAT demo to connect.
