Is it safe to play BF2 online?
« on: January 18, 2008, 02:58:06 am »
Does anyone know if BF2 is a cheater-fest like ArmA and CSS?

I just bought BF2 online and am downloading it right now. I just want to know if the majority of players are wall hacking and stuff. Should I just stick to putting caps into the A.I soldiers and leave online play well alone?

What's the status of the game!

Every game that uses PunkBuster is hacked all to hell and filled with cheaters.

*While we crash and burn, small, low tech, agrarian societies such as the Hmong in the mountains of Laos will continue on without so much as blinking an eye.*

first hack i made was for bf2, Punkbuster sucks, especially in older PB games.

Anyone know if they updated games like BF2 to activly scan for cheat tools? i know newer PB games do (E.G. Warrock) but not sure about older games.

Lmao, BF2 is run by cheaters nowadays!

The difference between ArmA and BF2 cheaters is that with BF2 you cant just spawn tanks and stuff.
BF2 cheats are pretty much restricted to aimbots and wallhacks.

I heard that the latest PB updat is banning people who have cheat site cookies when it scans your browser.
Some assclown in Texas needs to get kicked around by a few million pissed off people.

From when Evenbalance has to resort to them methods of detecting people you instantly know that their anti-cheat software is a failing piece of crap.
A lot like a certain ArmA/OFP anticheater.

my question is that are older games using the same methods as new ones? will you get a kick/ban just for having tsearch open while bf2 is running?

It depends on how old the game is and for how long the -publisher- has contracted for the use of and updates for PunkBuster.
It's not free you know.

tsearch = kick ( unknown appi or gamehack )

tsearch + breakpoint = ban

PB's latest update

Just kidding

I know the latest PB update runs a windows service.
This service is known to snoop through .txt .ini files to find stuff like hack settings... Spyware style.

@Medic
What if you edit the memory and close tsearch before joining the server?
