am still trying to solve the fake hradba puzzle. Will you tell me if im on the right track here. After rereading some of Z's posts I think I might be.

When ptredom implemented hradba in 1.40 they supplied the public key files that would be used to encrypt the data for the hradba updates.
hbdata_public.key and hb_public.key

Each hradba update has the private keys
data.crf <- hbdata_public.key
hradba.crf <- hb_public.key

They somehow process these keys and decrypt the data from the htable.dat into a hash.

I am assuming one of the entries in the hash is revision number.

Am I off in the weeds here ? If not can you give me some suggestions on how to use the keys to decrypt and encrypt?

I will wait a few days to see if anyone is willing to answere.

As most of the older TKC people do not play this game anylonger and most of the ones who currantly post are also withen Take2/Pterodon/PMT you may not get a reply and if so it may not help you much.

If after a few days go by I find I need to give you a hint-push it may not help you much if you do not know programming. I could always point you to the correct set of tools and practice programs but then again you need to have some understanding of programming (they ARE broken down into skill lvls....rated NOOB-VERY ADVANCED).

I know they use the microsoft cryptography functions, I am just not sure how to go about passing the process of loading the keys etc.

I guess you meant debugging tools where I thought you mean decrypting tools.

I tried google, but wasnt able to find anything that worked with key files (well some use their own flavor of keys)

Google finds lots of sites that deal with encryption keys and hashs.

Are you not able to use google to find them?

When you enter the front door to TKC there is a read-me you have to click "yes" to that states we do not provide ser-# or cracks.

Try searching again and if you can't find the pages in a day or so then I will help point you in a good dirrection.

Also read the main site NEWS as well as the stickys......TKC has already said what it will be making public >after< Vietcong 2 goes retail.

If you search and do good work befor that time and wish to post about it befor we planed then you will be given credit for it.
