Echoes in the Dark
« on: March 26, 2005, 11:53:06 pm »
There's something strange with my sound settings. The "default" sound settings make all sounds echo (one echo with a very small delay (less than one ms) like the EAX echo). The reason why I say default is, that some apps like games, override the "default" settings and thus no echoes appear when playing those games.

I've got no idea how it happened, but does anyone know how to troubleshoot the 3dsound settings?

Do you have some sort of 3rd party sound manager? or a utility for you sound(card/chip or whatever)?

What do you have for sound?
A little more info could be good..
If you're using nforce2 soundstorm, the tray icon (nvmixer) has some settings in it that could contribute to you having echo'ing sound maybe..
although I think that would probably override game's settings.. anyway..

Maybe it'd be simpler to uninstall/reinstall sound drivers..
Not all chemicals are bad. For example, without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen,

there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.

Yea, reinstall drivers is probably the best thing to do.  :)
