Uncanny Valley & Star Citizen (try out codes)
« on: October 11, 2015, 09:18:45 pm »
Looks like they (largely) fixed the issue of the uncanny valley.

Start at
Code: [Select]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5sRUYwgWGI&t=1h20m48s if it doesn't.

Some great attention to details in those ships (damage states, explosions etc) as well.

Referral Randomizer:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/3oiokc/the_star_citizen_referral_code_randomizer/

You can also use TKC member referral codes. They give you 5000 credits (about 5€) in game when you register. PM a player for it.

Just a heads up, for people interested in getting into the game now or later. This thursday there'll be an anniversary sale (running for a week with different offers/ships each day). Might be a good time to get into the game as it could be the last or one of the last such before first release.

When starting out, look for game package deals. These are packages that include a ship and a player character.

It's possible to buy additional ships separately, but a tip is to not buy anything expensive unless you get "Life Time Insurance" (LTI) along with it.

If you use my referral code (PM me) when registering, irregardless of buying something, you'll get an additional 5000 in-game currency. If you get a code when registering or if someone else has a code, feel free to make a post and spread it through PM here in order to avoid flooding the thread with codes. The codes given previously are generic and don't necessarily support people on TKC.

The sale is on now, and they surprised a lot of people by launching 2.0 (not for all though, but still). There's great progress on the game it seems. The 1000 people who reported the largest amount of bugs got access to the alpha 2.0 now. Access will follow for the rest.

I changed the posted referral codes with the randomizer found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/3oiokc/the_star_citizen_referral_code_randomizer/

I didn't find any good vids on the new features though, but, there's a starter pack sale for USD 30 that gets you a package. There are rumors that there'll be 10 dollar packages closer to release (only containing the character). Thing is that that sale is limited to 1000 per day, and they seem to disappear quickly. I ideally want to downgrade to it and use the difference on a stand alone ship. We'll see about that. But overall the game seems to have a lot of potential.

Nice cast:

Edit: Another tip. There's a loophole that lets you LTI any non-package/stand-alone ship on sale this week. You get the Archimedes LTI for 30USD, and upgrade it to whatever you want. The LTI carries over.

At least one in the Beta said the game is ...not worth buying.

At least it looks pretty good:

Absolutely amazing, this is a game I'll play for sure.

You can use other community members' ref codes (rather than the randomizer) if you don't have one, that way you get extra starting money (and some extra ship guns for the reffer) in the persistent universe.  PM if you want mine. I backed for a multi crew ship (but not one of the super big ones, however, I got to admit, it would be fun with a TKC battleship :P).

They have a free flight promotion this week (but, above video is alpha 3.0. Currently alpha 2.5 is being rolled out).

Code: GAMESCOM2016 at
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist
(Don't forget to use a ref code as well!)

Game pace reminds of Vietcong a bit.
