Set up/use Private or "cracked" Game Servers!
« on: August 03, 2004, 11:20:29 pm »
The First Step:
The first thing you'll need to do in order to play on private servers is to get the latest "private server fix" for the game. Typically this involves downloading a RAR compressed file (something.rar) which contains a fixed version of the games executable file (game.exe). Using WinRAR or whichever program is required, you then extract the new game.exe to the folder where the game is installed.
For example: Download the games Private Server fixed exe. Open the .rar file in WinRAR. Extract the .exe file to the folder where the game is installed, and when prompted, tell it to overwrite the original file with the new one.
IMPORTANT: Always update your game using an OFFICIAL update/patch BEFORE using a private server fix!. In other words, if you want to play Call of Duty 1.2, you should download and install the official 1.2 patch then get the 1.2 private server fix.

Connecting with The All-Seeing Eye:
"The All-Seeing Eye" is a program similar to GameSpy Arcade. With The All-Seeing Eye you can play all the latest games online with people from all over the world. Because of the way The All-Seeing Eye allows you to make your own favorites list of servers, we have been able to make it easier than ever to connect to private servers which are normally very hard to find and connect to.

To add the servers to The All-Seeing Eye, watch this video ( http://www.hellostamps.com/epc/how-to.divx.avi ).

Connecting Manually:
If you do not want to use The All-Seeing Eye to connect, then you may manually connect with most games. This is usually done using the in-game console or by running a command using the 'run' feature in the Windows Start Menu. While reading the instructions below, remember to replace IpAddress with the IP address of the server you want to connect to.

- Call of Duty
- Battlefield 1942
- Battlefield Vietnam
- Halo
- Unreal Tournament 2004

Call of Duty
You can connect by using the in-game console. To do so, press the ~ key (under the ESC key and above the TAB key on your keyboard) while in the Call of Duty menu. In the box that appears, type:
/connect IpAddress
For example: /connect 200.177.229.250:28960

Battlefield 1942
You can connect by choosing Run from the Windows Start menu. In the box that comes up, type:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer IpAddress:14567
For example: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 200.177.229.250:14567

Battlefield Vietnam
You can connect by choosing Run from the Windows Start menu. In the box that comes up, type:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\bfvietnam.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer IpAddress:15567
For example: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\bfvietnam.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 200.177.229.250:15567

Halo
coming soon

Unreal Tournament 2004
You can connect by going to 'Join Game' in the main menu of UT2004. You may recieve an error about your key, just ignore it. Click on 'Favorites' then right click on an empty area of the list. You can either add the IP to your favorites or just join it, choose the appropriate selection. Now type in the IP (or paste it, if you copied the IP).
