Buying a laptop
« on: June 11, 2012, 12:42:26 am »
I was thinking of buying a gaming laptop. With work I go all over the damn place. In a year I'm hopping to have a job that I wont hardly be stateside and just be flying all over the damn world.

Anyway I need a laptop for gaming

I was thinking of getting on from cyberpower or ibuypower.
Id build my own but too bad newegg does not offer the parts for it.

Any input on where to get a good deal would be great. Don't say dell since they are overpriced fuckers.

Jack off over your new "Super Cool Laptop"
Some random guy bought one just as powerful for 1 grand.

Wait until the end of summer.
Prices will both drop and the latest amd apu will be sold by all the laptop builders.

Myself I am waiting for the GPU/CPU and board prices to drop at about the same time for my main system rebuild that has been offline for 2 months or so now.

I'm thinking...October.
Just before the upswing for the Xmas up pricing as per past yearly trends.

im using me a dell 17.47" studio at the current time. Im a fan of building my own tower rigs, but fkn laptops go to a reputable company and get a fkn parts warranty.

You said not to say dell because they are just overpriced. Well, they may be over-priced, but ive never had another company overnight me a new print head + new ink for a problem i did myself. i called after 5:00PM and i got it before noon, the next day. I wasn't even aware that our shipping system was so fast out here.

But, when you pay dell you are paying for the customer service, and when you find that you longer have time to piss off hours a day fixing everything in your life all the fkn time, send em the extra couple bucks just so you can have a day to fk off in the future.

Something magical happens when you start to value your time more than everyone elses, try it for a few months and see if things don't improve for you a bit. (disclaimer: Im not held responsible when you misrepresent the definition of being an asshole and loose all your friends). Just have it in your mind that if you are making 75 an hour, it is financially beneficial to hire someone else to make your damn food and wash your shit.

Enjoy your creative game-play, whatever that may include.

Laptops are "alright" if you're continuously on the move.
Otherwise, computer rule.
