Good heads up. I would like to see it, but all the christmas lighting causes a lot of light pollution. It gets worse and worse every year. Last time I saw the milky way was three years ago, in Clear Lake, CA. :)

Never had that many bluescreens in an OS before. ME was completely terrible, but they managed to recover with XP and then 7. Still sceptical about 10 though.

Take a look at this. Almost photo-realistic (mod for Battlefront):

I tested the beta, but I thought it was too chaotic (I hate when people spawn all over the place - behind you and so on, there are no clear front lines).

I liked the sound and graphics (better than most games I've played lately), but I think it's too expensive. I'll wait until the game costs 10-20 eur, and I have no other games on my list. I seldom buy games or dlcs for more than 20 eur :P .

Thanks for the heads up.

Battlefront would've been cool, but it's not worth that money.

The dinosaur game?

Maybe someday, my backlog of games is currently too big to justify adding new ones to it.

I played the mod, bought the stand alone - but never played it. :P

I guess I wait until it's more complete.

It's a very good game, but also a time sink.

You mean the alpha?

At least it looks pretty good:

Start at 3h2mins for in-game stuff.

The sale is on now, and they surprised a lot of people by launching 2.0 (not for all though, but still). There's great progress on the game it seems. The 1000 people who reported the largest amount of bugs got access to the alpha 2.0 now. Access will follow for the rest.

I changed the posted referral codes with the randomizer found here:

I didn't find any good vids on the new features though, but, there's a starter pack sale for USD 30 that gets you a package. There are rumors that there'll be 10 dollar packages closer to release (only containing the character). Thing is that that sale is limited to 1000 per day, and they seem to disappear quickly. I ideally want to downgrade to it and use the difference on a stand alone ship. We'll see about that. But overall the game seems to have a lot of potential.

Nice cast:

Edit: Another tip. There's a loophole that lets you LTI any non-package/stand-alone ship on sale this week. You get the Archimedes LTI for 30USD, and upgrade it to whatever you want. The LTI carries over.

Just a heads up, for people interested in getting into the game now or later. This thursday there'll be an anniversary sale (running for a week with different offers/ships each day). Might be a good time to get into the game as it could be the last or one of the last such before first release.

When starting out, look for game package deals. These are packages that include a ship and a player character.

It's possible to buy additional ships separately, but a tip is to not buy anything expensive unless you get "Life Time Insurance" (LTI) along with it.

If you use my referral code (PM me) when registering, irregardless of buying something, you'll get an additional 5000 in-game currency. If you get a code when registering or if someone else has a code, feel free to make a post and spread it through PM here in order to avoid flooding the thread with codes. The codes given previously are generic and don't necessarily support people on TKC.

Did anyone make traffic analysis of this?

Protonmail is back up since a day or two. They got some new equipment that seems to beat the DDoSers.

From their twitter:
"I love the feeling of checking my @ProtonMail email now.  It feels like…Victory."

But they say they're still being DDoSed (hardly noticeable though).

Would be interesting to see what kind of botnet they use. Ordinary people's computers, and they don't notice?

This is an excellent email service. However, for the last couple of days they have been getting DDoSed at a level that makes them believe the attack is state sponsored.

Initially the DDoSers demanded a ransom. But, interestingly (or perhaps stupidly) even after the ransom was paid, the attacks continue, which nonetheless is valuable information. A thug would just cease at this point, because nobody would pay a second time due to them not honoring the agreement in the first place. Paying is often a very unlikely option, and perhaps the people behind the attack counted on them not paying. Basically, the ransom thing seems to have been a cover up.
