Vietcong 1 & 2 / does any 1 in [TKC] Make maps ??
« on: May 31, 2006, 02:37:25 am »
Good mapmakers and cheaters are a lot alike. Both hack into the game trying to change the things how they like it just from a different aproach.
Both know the game inside and out.
Both use the built in scripts and try to change them or use selfmade scripts.
Both unpack the game to use some stuff from it and repack it again trying to make the stuff work the way they like it.
What I like most about it is that both try to make the m79 to work but I haven't seen anybody using that thing in multiplay...:P

It's allways fun to combine the underground hack with the tank on your head.
Sometimes I don't use the tank but a fighterjet or a chinook heli or even a bananatree, forklift or crane. Animals are fun too!!! Look in your extracted game for .bes files you can use.  That part will be above ground and people sometimes laugh or get really pissed but when they see I also have the m2.50cal gun they allways want to kick me......
Big fun while it lasts....
I'm only glad that it's not that easy to do in 1.6 because it's not possible to have a serious game that way, I play both 1.01 and 1.6 by having it in seperate directory's.

Alright! (maybe lol)
I extracted it like the old way, and if got this...

If i open folder disk01 then quess whats in there, a 600MB+ File called

vc2-media.cbf

and in folder disk02 a file from 643MB called vc2-data1..

uhgm wtf?
lol

Total commander says that the cbf files are argived wrong or someting so you cant extract them that way..

You shouldn't try to extract the cbf files from your install disk but from the allready installed vc2 directory (c:\program files\vietcong2 )
It does work with total commander, tryed it and it works. I didn't try to play the extracted game so can't help you there.....

Vietcong 1 & 2 / network problems with vc
« on: November 12, 2005, 03:26:05 am »
Not sure but I think most of them are tcp ports unless there is udp in the name like " 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) "
I got this list myself from http://vietcong.lobogames.com/modules.php?name=FAQ&myfaq=yes&id_cat=22&categories=Vietcong+FAQ+by+NASA#167
In worst case you have to do every port twice, once for tcp and once for udp OR you could do what Z says and look for DMZ in your router and enable that,  that way you can forget about port forwarding because all ports are forwarded to your computer. I would do this only while gaming and put it back afterwards but that's just a personal preference.

No open all the ports (10)
On my router it looks like this:

start-end is the same as your inbound and for private port you use the same numbers, so on every line you must enter those ports 4 times.

The ones I gave you before:

At a minimum, you need to open the following TCP/UDP ports for your firewall: 5425 and 15425. See below. The GameSpy server uses port 28900.

3783 (Voice Chat Port for LAN use)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
28900 (Master Server List Request)
29900 (GP Connection Manager)
29901 (GP Search Manager)
13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
15425 (Vietcong Server)
6515 (Dplay UDP)
6500 (Query Port)
5425 (Default VC port)

Ok enabled must be checked, description is just what it says.
inbound port and private port must be the same (inbound is what comes in from the internet and private is the port used at your pc and unless in some special cases is always the same)
Type: Put on both
And private ip adress is the ip of your computer, you can get it by opening command prompt (Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\command prompt) and typing "ipconfig" (without "")
Do that for all ports you want to forward and you should be able to host a game. :P

Vietcong 1 & 2 / Removing the vegetation
« on: September 27, 2005, 06:03:58 pm »
Why not make your own maps without vegetation ? You can also edit existing maps change them and save them.
Or just use the vchook cheat, it works on 1.6 but not on hradba protected servers....
