but retail servers are no good for dialup connections. I know you all keep saying FA demo, and I know... but we like to play with other people to and dialup is no good. I'll have a look at the 1.41 patch and see what kind of what I might can get out of that. But I'm sure if I incorporate system stuff from that patch the demo will not work right.

Use it to set up your own server....or use VC/FA set up a server and let them use THAT demo to connect.

Oh...I was talking with Forrest and we both kinda think you should just use the FA demo......all the fixes and consol command are in it along with the extra map....you should be able to IP ban people as well.

T.W. here is another  way to look at the problem....

Pterodon FINNALY fixed this in the 1.4/1.41 patch so use the extraction method and look inside the patch for the answer.

Try useing the FA demo....you get the extra map AND the 1.5/1.6 patch.
I never looked but it probibly also has the server commands as well.

Try it and let us know.

Has anyone been able to fake the editor version? I mean make it think that it's 1.6 and be able to play on servers that way.
 
  With the developers menu, you can change pretty much everything. Game Speed, FOV, Crosshair Always on...

I think that the possible answere is in a post I made when this new site went up "get FA maps now" or somthing like that.

You just use REG EDIT to change the revision #!!!!!!!!!!

The post had to do with installing the editor after the game had been patched "past the point of no return"......so it would follow that the same idea should work for the patch # for the editor.

It should also work to say run a 1.01 game on a 1.60 server with HB off!

My little trick doesn't really let you play on the hradbra secure servers...  Just for a few minutes.  So is there something I missed somewhere.  I'm still trying to figure out how I can play the extracted in a room with hradbra.

Well I can't tell you EXACT ways to do it but if you look around the forum you should find the BASIC IDEA being talked about.

After you have made your file then even HB updates will have no efect.

I don't use any of theses things but enjoy the knowlage....but with so few players online most of the Founders aggree that some things are better not out in public hands.

I also thought that MO was going to put the easyest (and patchable) way for HB to be "tricked" up for public download yesterday but saw no post about it so perhaps he is going to wait untill summer vaction for the release.

Thanx man,  it works great though. Solved my problem completely.  Now I can Kick that ass that caused the server to crash when he joined.  Problem solved.  (I don't know if he's using the same prog to crash)

Yes but like MO said...the DEMO has so many problems with it that it can be crashed.

File not found is most often the cuase but too many garnades/AS/M-79 bursts in a given amount of time will do the same thing.

Those 2 issues wer fixed in the 1.4/1.41 patchs yet another two ways are still in the 1.6.

We hide that info alot better so we do not have another leak and some "clan" guy goes wild crashing servers again!

I thought you die hard clan players had no time for the demo anyhow...you setting up a server for the guys at school?

We could use some fresh meat in the game!

I think it is still up for download in the old section.

Just d/l it and look it over T.W.

It was for 1.3 I think but you could mod it for the VC demo easy enough.

All it does is look for the call for a file not found and the scrip says "yes I found it." so the server will not crash.

Only one of the things that some of the TKC programmers made that are not cheats.

Tarky is trying to film Crazy 2 Saterday the 27th but has banned 999,999 IP#s in LA California and Forrest let the first thread go wild becuase people could not log onto tarks .com rather than just telling people what was up.

Dallas is allowing a BANNED person to sneek in and post yet deleats/edits non-TOS violating posts.
