@ AppleSinclair...
So what your long post boils down to is it says that what TKC does not in any way violate any law.

No it doesn't say that. Try again.

Ok Z .

Not everything I say is a personal attack on you or [TKC] Z, no need to take it to heart and get all emotional. If you are so upset by my posts I'm sure you can find the big BAN button in your administration center.

I think most countries (with some exceptions) probably have the following built into their Cyber Crimes laws:

Accessing computer system without authorisation
(access, in relation to any computer system, means instruct, communicate with, store data in, receive data from, or otherwise make use of any of the resources of the computer system)

What if you intentionally bypass an ID ban or ban on your system? debatable. Would have to prove that you intentionally changed it to access the server, which would be hard.

Damaging or interfering with computer system
"damages, deletes, modifies, or otherwise interferes with or impairs any data or software in any computer system

causes any computer system to?
(i) fail; or
(ii) deny service to any authorised users"

Data could refer to data in the RAM, HDD, USB Storage device etc.

I think server crashing, serverside modifications would probably apply under this one (they would modify data stored in the RAM on the server, causing the game server software to crash), but whether or not "server to any authorised users" applies to a software application (ie, server admin, players) or the computer system (system/network admins, remote desktop users) on the whole is unclear.

The other clientside modifications (wallhacks, file editing, etc) are probably against the EULA, but that is pretty much never enforced unless its piracy. They use Anti-Cheat systems, to try and prevent breaches to the EULA.

To conclude, some cheats/hacks are probably against the law but unless someone here specializes in Cyber Crimes law / computer forensics it would be unwise to say either way.

At the end of the day, it would never happen - cheating/hacking is too wide spread to prosecute every person who did it (law enforcement wouldn't have a bar of it, because its a waste of resources), it is also a very minor breach of the law and as MrMedic said they would have to prove you were physically using your computer at that exact point in time. ISP's don't do anything unless required to by a law enforcement agency.

It's fairly safe to say that it is extremely unlikely that someone would get prosecuted for cheating/hacking on an online game, unless it is DoS or inflicting serious damage to the server.

Blatantly smoking a hell of a lot crack. Wake up to yourself.

For the record, that isn't his real first name - so lul at you.

Why is it that nerds think that because they think they somehow know someones real identity they are all high and mighty - nothing changes buddy you are still socially inept and even if you lived next door you still wouldn't touch him. We all know you are unemployed and on a government benefit, just like most of the others on this forum.

Glad to see you take an active interest in watching what page I have loaded, Z. I guess that should of been expected, considering you're on this forum 23 hours of the day.

A little desperate?

And Z I think the only person here who has called it an "uber" Anti-Cheat is you.

It's all just a hoax thought up by Hobovampire :icon_laugh.
