There are many ways to describe the sniper. A sniper can be your best friend or your worst enemy. A sniper is one with his sniper rifle, and it completes him. Beware of the sniper, and remember the saying and try to stick with it, One Shot, One Kill. Lets take a look at what a sniper really is.

The sniper is specialized in the art of executing his enemies from far distances. He has two things to depend on, his sniper rifle, and his mind. The rest is up to his squad. To be a sniper, you cant just run in right in the middle of line of fire and set up your position. Remember this, the farther you are from your enemy the better. If you can see your enemy, the enemy can see you, what makes your enemy not being able to shoot you as well as you can shoot him, is your rifle. Which rifle to choose though? On the U.S. side, you got the M1 Garand and the Winchester 70. The M1 Garand, made famous in WWII as one of the most popular rifles soldiers were using. The one in Vietcong, has a scope on it. What's the advantages of the M1 Garand opposed to the Winchester? The M1 Garand has very long range, and can be fired at any enemy you can see in your line of fire if you are an expert sharpshooter. The M1 Garand uses an inner magazine with 8 rounds, so you shoot till you run out of bullets, then change clips. When you zoom in with the M1 Garand, you can only see what is in the scope and that is limited to a small circle, that's where some people prefer the Winchester 70 Bolt Rifle. Each time you shoot, you have to reload, as opposed to M1 Garand, continuous fire without reload. This is all the same for the VC's sniper rifles as well. Now lets look at some other things. Your a sniper with limited inventory items.
Sniper rifle, pistol, knife, map. You don't have a lot to work with do you. That's where your mind comes in. You have to visualize your enemies positions, entrance, exit, snipers, soldiers, where they are at all times. Game starts, you should be the first one getting your position. When finding new positions, switch to pistol to run faster and so you can actually kill the enemy because it is very difficult to kill with your sniper rifle from close range. Find your position, stick with it, and move only when it is safe. Remember, being a sniper is deadly, but a sniper can also be dead himself if not careful.

Anti-Sniper Techniques

One of the most common type of contact with the enemy is a sniping Incident. The VC sniper force ranges in size from a single rifleman or up to a squad. Usually the snipers are well concealed at a range of about 250-300 meters. A command tendency of individuals who are exposed to a sniper is to reply with rifle fire, or to withhold fire because the target cannot be exactly located. This gives the sniper a chance to fire again The first thing is obvious the sniper can see you for sure, so hit the dirt and take cover, keep cool don't run around. The second step,/ you or your unit should immediately deliver a heavy volume of fire into the likely sniper position. Try to out flank the sniper once located.

SVD Dragunov

ammo: 7,62 * 54 mm
mag capacity: 10

The Snaiperskaya Vintovka Dragunova was not designed as a standard sniper rifle, the main role of SVD in the Russian army was to extend the effective range of fire for infantry squads providing powerful long-range fire support. But nevertheless, it is a very reliable and accurate sniper rifle.

USMC and USN Rules of Engagement

1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.

2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.

3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.

4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough nor using cover correctly.

5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)

6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.

7. Ten years from now, no one will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.

8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.

9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.

10. Use a gun that works every time. "All skill is in vain when an angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."

11. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

12. Always cheat; always win. If you walk away, it was a fair fight. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.

13. Always have a plan. 13a. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.

14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible. The visible target should be in FRONT of your gun.

15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.

16. Don't drop your guard.

17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.

18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them).

19. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.

20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

21. Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

22. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.

23. Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

24. Never attend a gunfight with a handgun the caliber of which starts with less than a "4."
