Title: Filesharing Clients
Post by: M. O. on January 19, 2004, 07:50:30 pm
The very best one, mostly for Europe but there are many american "hubs" aswell. Here you will find anything, forget Kazaa or emule get this one instead.

http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

It's a bit non-userfriendly but anyone can learn and there are many users.

And remember to join Finnet Laune Hub :) ( fin-laune.no-ip.info )

...and hey BBB is the most known dc hub community and its swedish :)

I've used DC++ in the past, its completely unique that's for sure. As the name implies you directly connect to the other person's harddrive and search through it, almost as if you hacked into his system. DC uses "slots", one for each member to connect, no availble slot means you have to wait. The good news is that usually you will have a faster connection to the file (how much faster I forget) and it is more reliable.

The bad news is that in order to gain access to many of the rooms (its similar to a listing of IRC chat rooms) you need to share an enormous amount of diskspace. Sometimes reaching over 100GB. All in all its a good system, and you should give it a try.

I perfer to us BitTorrent protocall.
The client I use is called BURST!.

It does not have a search engine so you need to get a ".torrent" file (16-39K) from any one of the many "service" forums.

I have had FarCry for a few weeks already and have sent the .torrent to INFO@TKC...................

I have many movies that will not be out for 2 months already.....including the CD and Box artwork.

Guess were you can find Fist Alpha!

It has to do with your internet settings. Try to set passive mode in the settings dialog.
