A game like VC but with worms graphics and fun content (not as serious as a 3d war simulator game).

You are a good Joe Jimmy......If the sysop thinks that the skills I know you have are a benifit you get my vote to join the project. Eh,if I was asked that is. :)

In any event I will see that you are informed of any project I think you may have an intrust in. Skilled minds need to gather together free of outside and  external BS and propaganda...for there own sake.

PS. If I am having alot of typos right now it is the pain from my back (not that I always spell correctly when I am not in pain).

Hey I already said you had talent....now show off!

When the project is about ready to be free to the public I am sure the sysop will ask for your help to improve the graphix of the end product.

My self I think it will be projected to a 8-14 year old group as the most parents would PAY for such a game for their kids and as such should be a target group.

This is part of what I think the efforts should be geard (spl?) towards at this point.

Remember that the idea is to gather skills and provide the ULTIMATE in promotion for such people in respect to promote'n them to set up their own software company....as such, mass market sales = largest profit/return to those involved.

This forum has managed to gather the brightest online minds of our time. In the last few months they have started to work together as part of the new TKC dirrection in an honest effort by it's skilled members and Staff to support and premote their skills outside of just programming cheats
(or spelling,Z points to self!).

Together we ...from both sides of the same coin....now gather to support one another in a comman goal.

Excellent work Lava! Mullah, this pic definately (spl) deserves to be posted on the main site. Lava, I think with some minor tweaking (background needs some attention & the cowboy needs some hands and a gun) your pic could certainly be considered the most appropriate artwork to advertise the game.

Keep at it lava...you obviously have great talent in this area, and TKC will without a doubt, benefit from it.

[edit]

Just saw your mention that you only worked on the pic for 4 mintues...can hardly imagine what you can do with an hour at your disposal.

I have been watching him for many months on a few forums/sites. He has some talent as I have already stated.

He also seems to be a hard worker in his efforts with PMT.

He should by all rights be given any/all help as possible to advance/promote his talents.

It's very good for 4 mins of work. I especially liked that hat lol. But try to add some cellshading to the egg/scene

We're not completely sure about what models, animations, textures, scenes etc there'll be, but once we know we are open to all kind of help. We haven't got very far yet. Sometime in the end of this summer we get a better overview. We need to change loads of things in the coop structure during the summer as we mainly speak swedish right now too.

The game will likely not be commercial either. It's possible that parts or the whole of the game will be open source also.  :)

Title: Eggorado Discussion
Post by: M. O. on May 18, 2005, 02:30:00 am
Cheating won't be a problem. We've got some unconventional "countermeasures". But yea, TKC will develop cheats for that game too.

LOL Tom!

Most if not all of the game (free to the public) will be in OPEN CODE so that people can make easy changes to it.

I think that any "cheats" for it will be papers that help a learning  programmer understand how to become better by explaining how changing this-that line of code effects the game.

I am not one of the programmers on this project so when Mullah Omar says it will have some sort of "new" protection perhaps that part of the project is intended to help train people to work on a REAL anti-cheat system.....after all, every other system is crap that is easy enough to hack by most High School kids who know -some- programming.

Lol Stephen, don't use my name on these forums...

But i don't get it. You have counter mesures to protect against cheating in this game, yet this is TKC.... :? But ok fair enough a game is meant to be played through first then when you re-play it then cheat.. if thats what gets you going.

Cool I won't use your first name....but EVERYONE knows mine so NP there.

Any how I plan to meet with the Take2 rep at the expo in LA,California and talk over a few things about the game,TKC and the Gathering forum.

After all one of my duties here is TKC Public Rep.

******************************************************

[16th of May 2005] Vietcong 2 at This Year's E3
2K Games, our publisher for Vietcong 2, today announced that they will be showcasing Vietcong 2, along with other game titles, in the South Hall of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2005 will take place from Wednesday the 18th of May until Friday the 20th of May.

*******************************************************
I will record my talk with them for my own records and do a write up about it.

If I am v-e-r-y lucky they will decide to pay for Mini-Z and myselfs tickets and parking!

In any event I will do my best to write up an honest, factual report no matter how it turns out.

Title: Eggorado Discussion

Gathering and it's agents....TKC who is now in print in EGM....TKC gathering programmers (some who have/still work in companys Take2 publishes) and making a FREE MP FPS online game that is open code.

Things like that.

Remember when you asked why I don't just work for the "good side" I told you both sides are good. I have a chance to help both sides out here and it is not somthing that I can let pass by.

Take2 is the about largest publisher in the world and tho many programmers are not happy with the deal the get with them perhaps a meeting with them and an honest talk could be of benifit to those that are now working to make programming the way they put bread and butter on the table.

The reason I am a mod on so many fourums under this ZOldDude nic and have "The Unknown Rank" as status is I am always up front and honest with people but never a snitch and that brings a lvl of respect and trust.

I will never violate trust given to me.

Ok a small problem....

http://www.e3insider.com/portal.html

So I just left message with a drinking buddy Rob....AKA The Unknown Player from the VC "history" by Forrest (no Forrest was wrong and I was not the person he and  Fate claimed...they couldn't get a clue if you sold it to them). He works for Sony this year and can get me in as he gets pass every year,I just never paid much attention to it befor when he showed them to me. Just hope he has not flown off to NZ to see his mom this week.

If I need to I will contact the person I helped into City office this year and see if they can pull for me.

I was looking forward to going on the 18th and not waisting any time about it but did not know it was NOT open to the general public.

Sounds like a sucky way to promote software to me!

Interesting....Z, will they allow you to take pictures while you are at E3? considering just about every bit of footage gamers get is from E3 I would expect it not to be a problem. If it's possible, maybe you could get a few pics there.

In fact, maybe you could hunt down someone from EGM mag, and get a picture of them autographing our column. Let us know if you are able to work any magic.  8)

Yea it's ready now. A demonstration of the engine and some of it's features (nothing special) will be included in the beta (or maybe we should call it alpha). There are two probs though. 1. The game is a bit too big (140MB), got to compress files + change formats on some. 2. Got no idea who'll be able to test it but a good start would be that devs, mods and admins get to test it if they want.
Title: Eggorado Discussion
Post by: ZOldDude on May 12, 2006, 12:04:56 pm
I will test.
If I can get up befor FraxRipper takes off I will get the address to a free hosting site that lets you send files as large as 250MB....if not then he will be back around 23:30GMT.

There's no active work going on right now. All devs are tied up with uni studies. It's impossible to say when it's going to be ready right now. The alpha(/engine test) is playable, isn't very buggy, but ugly.

I'll be able to continue work next summer  . Don't know about the others.

The game CoJ is very close to Eggorado other than the TKC Engine is the creation of those in the project rather than another companys copyrighted product.

Also the "cowboys" in Eggorado have EGGS for bodys and thier blood is egg yolk!
If this was to ever be MARKETED then it would not have a "M" game rateing due to the bodys in the game and would be able to sale to all age groupes.

Post by: ZOldDude on October 01, 2009, 06:23:42 pm
When I last was asked to test the engine seemed fine...it is the artwork that needs attention.

The artwork could be "barrowed" from other games but that is not what the development team wanted.
The whole project was meant to be 100% TKC with nothing used from other games (engine/art).

Also the quoted fps are on machines and GPU's from 3 years ago.
With today's CPU/GPU the fps would be far higher still!
