I never understood how it can be anonymous unless you trade bitcoin on a cash basis. All bank accounts, bitcoin deposits and so on I've seen always require your ID.

https://localbitcoins.com/ - You can meet up a seller IRL, or at least handle the transaction anonymously.
After that, you can use bitcoin mixers to make your transactions untraceable. (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mixing_service)
