Title: Space Engineers hack
Post by: Kalorexoc on May 13, 2014, 11:22:01 pm
Anyone know of a way to edit values for this game on multiplayer? Like editing Ore/ingot amount or weld speed? I found a way to edit my own files to make the ore/ingots give me whatever amount i like, and for instant welder,etc...but finding the values on someone else's server is proving difficult.

More than likely those values are stores on their server, even if you were to login to their server that information is still not local to you.

just as when people join your server im sure it creates a file or a entry in a players.*** file.

This is called a server side value.

Though i haven't played the game, this is often the case.

You know full well you don't have to buy to play.

The ONLY game I ever bought was VC and that was to get the box artwork after playing it for years first.

Wait...correction....I also payed for a "store bought but never installed" copy of ARMA GOLD because I played it for years for free.

haha yup!

Well i did get a little down time, so i started poking and prodding around using Tsearch. Was able to find the speed limiting value, and changed it to -1 lol, set inertia to 120,000,000....i lightly pressed the forward button and crashed the game. Back to the drawing board... BUT interestingly enough I did find some pretty cool shit hidden away in the file system, like non-hued blocks, curved parts etc. Also editable files that make things very very interesting....will post soon

There are probably other hacks you can do that are controlled client side. This game sounds like something from the command and conquer series of games.

I made a pretty neat C&C generals no fog of war hack.

Easier with two computers, 1v1.

get a unit and walk it to where your other computer can see it through the fog of war, search 1. walk the unit back and search 0. that will get you in the right area.
