Title: Vehicle exploding.
Post by: skovkatten on June 10, 2012, 06:31:47 am
Hi, I'm having some troubles - namely my spawned lada is exploding when i try to ride it.
If anyone could tip me along the lines of getting it working I would be thankful.  :smile:
I have searched the forum and tried out a few methods, but nothing seems to be working.
I can PM you the script if you would like to help me out and look at it.

Thank you in advance.

I tried Coronel_Niel's method but it doesn't seem to work. I might have incorporated it into my script in a wrong way.

I seemed to have done something here, I made it take just a bit longer before it explodes, but still in need of dire help.

Yeah I've looked around every thread about vehicles, used search, etc.

I was finally able to actually get into the vehicle, but it explodes shortly there after..and I've already tried other scripts, each one.

Quote
Hint "Test6";
_veh = cursorTarget;
hint format ["%1", _veh];
_veh setVariable ["UH1H_TK_GUE_EP1", 123456, true];

dayzSetFuel = [_veh,1];
dayzSetFuel spawn local_sefFuel;

_veh setDamage 0;

Quote
Hint "Test5";

nul = [10, 10, 10, "UH1H_TK_GUE_EP1"] execVM "\z\addons\dayz_code\compile\local_createObj.sqf";
vehicle player setDamage 0;
vehicle player setFuel 1;

Thats what I have going and like I said it goes for 20 seconds or so and then big-badda-boom.

I know you guys are sick of this shit, so, if you feel like helping..awesome..if not? Then I eat a big bag of dicks.

It's so rare, it doesn't need handing out.

I think this is what ZOldDude is referring to.

Was interested to know why publicVariable wasn't working on the serverObjectMonitor:

Code: [Select]
"dayz_serverObjectMonitor" addPublicVariableEventHandler {dayz_serverObjectMonitor = dayz_safety};

Took 2 minutes to google "publicVariable" and then click "addPublicVariableEventHandler" and then search the code files for "addPublicVariableEventHandler".

Seriously guys, use your brains. If you can't work it out from this, I give up.

Tip 2:
Code: [Select]
"dayzPublishObj" addPublicVariableEventHandler {(_this select 1) call server_publishObj};
You can use either line of code, or both. Doesn't matter to me.

Many,many pages not on the front list.
People need to spend some time READING the forums back beyond the first page of topics.

When ever I used to join a new forum I made a POINT of reading each and every thread in reverse order from back-to-front to understand what was going on.
Just the way my mind works.

Thanks for the info  :smile

I did a search but honestly only checked through about the first 10 - 15 results.

Now I will search deeper in the depths of TKC!

Really I do.

I like how you most certainly didn't read the second post in the thread.
If you did, you would know I already tried that method unsuccessfully.

Many thing are just "lost in translation"...but most answers to questions here are found in posts not located on the first page of the forums topic list.

I have found the method you mentioned, even before you mentioned it. It is not working for me. This is why I ask for help. Searching does not really provide any answers as to how this is not working for me.

I know, I just don't know how to incorperate it into my script properly. If anyone feels like helping me out, I would be grateful. I am on TS right now.
