Title: TOTAL NEWBIE GUIDE TO USING CHEAT ENGINE AND SCRIPTS

Ok, this is the ABSOLUTE NOOBIE tutorial on how to use scripts with Cheat Engine. Make sure to +1 me  :icon_biggrin2.
Also, here is a good website for adding code to ammo boxes http://browser.six-projects.net/cfg_weapons

Step 1. Download Cheat Engine http://www.cheatengine.org/downloads.php
Step 2. Download your script/make your script.

Step 3. Place it in a custom folder within your Arma 2 OA directory. (C:\Steam Games\arma 2 operation arrowhead)

Step 4. Open Arma 2 OA.
Step 5. Open Cheat Engine.

Step 6. Attach Arma 2 to Cheat Engine

Step 7. Search Cheat Engine, (using the text value type), for a string to attach your script to. The most common strings are things like vote_kick, vote_admin, vote_missions. In this tutorial, we will be using vote_kick.

Step 8. You should get a small list of whatever you searched for. You will have to right-click them and click Browse this Memory Region. You will see a bunch of hex characters, and then to the right of those plain text.

Step 9. The one you are looking for should look something like this: private ["_dummy"]; _dummy = [_this,"vote_kick"] execVM "\ca\ui\scripts\dedicatedServerInterface.sqf";

Step 10. Change the "\ca\ui\scripts\dedicatedServerInterface.sqf"; part to "\YOURSCRIPTSFOLDERINTHEOADIRECTORY\YOURSCRIPT.sqf";

Step 11. If there are any leftover letters from the old path, you will need to change the hex characters, (that are to the left of the text), to 00, which looks like a period.

Step 12. Do this until your periods meet up with the periods that are already there.

Step 13. Make sure to CLOSE CHEAT ENGINE after you are done.
Step 14. Enter a server.
Step 15. Press "M" to open up your map, go to server interface, (or something like that), then press whatever button you set your script to, in our case "Vote Kick".
Step 16. Exit out of server interface and your map, and your script should have worked.

And I'm wondering whether this is detected by BE or not.
If its not, BE just proves again that it's nothing more than bullshit.

As long as you close Cheat Engine before entering a server, this is NOT detected by BE unless your script has weapons that are not in the server. For example, if your using a weapon spawn script on DayZ with weapons that spawn normally in DayZ there shouldn't be a problem, but if you try to put in AA12 in the script, which does not normally spawn, there is a problem.

Are your scripts in your OA directory in a custom folder?

yes, i created the folder

When you get in game and press Vote Kick, does it say that you want to vote kick someone in the chat, or does nothing happen at all?

Well I can get the weapon crate to spawn but it has no weapons. Help  :icon_confused2

Good tutorial.

You can also use HxD, it isn't detected by BE, so if you don't have UCE/a loader and are just loading one script at a time you can change what script you want to load without having to leaving the server.

In cheat engine I replace that line with C:\Users\Ethan\Desktop\Scripts\crate.sqf

I close cheat engine the window where you edit that line in cheat engine, close cheat engine. Alt tab back into ArmA 2 DayZ and join a server. I get in and spawn, press M. Go to server control and click vote kick. Then I go out of server control menu and out of map. Back into game. You're supposed to mouse scroll down and see the menu right? It doesn't show up for me though. Also does it have anything to do with the fact that your Cheat Engine picture shows you get a lot of vote_kick results but I only find one vote_kick?

Or just \Scripts\ammo.sqf"; into CE?

I'm doing all with guide and its show me this:

Make a folder inside where your ArmA 2 OA is and call it SnipersScripts and, then move your scipt in it and start ArmA once started replace what you were told to with:

private ["_dummy"]; _dummy = [_this,"onload"] execVM "\SnipersScripts\crate.sqf";
Notes:

When you make up the SQF and go to save your script save it with type as 'all' not a text document also make sure in the file name it is saved as crate.sqf

In future if you get another script just replace the "crate.sqf" with whatever you save your new script as. If you do what I said properly no doubt it should work.

That's exactly how I did it. Still getting the "not found" error.

I created the .sqf, saved as crate.sqf and saved under category "all".

-went into CE, set the path to \SniperScripts\crate.sqf

-closed CE

-joined a server

-server control, vote kick

I managed to get the crate to spawn but it's empty.

Read my other posts and use HxD instead. If you use it just make sure to save inside HxD after you make the changes. If your doing as I wrote then you shouldn't have any problems. I'm sure this works without a problem if you follow the guide, but I am only saying use HxD because it was I use and know.

It's because they have scripts to detect if you enter a vehicle which isn't supposed to be their. I think you you spawn a "UH1H_DZ" it won't blow up, but don't quote me on that! Try it and see I am not at home. If you want to spawn other vehicles you need to find a way around it I think someone posted it up in another topic have a look around.

This code has all of the items that spawn in game plus a couple more that don't spawn :icon_biggrin2. Don't change anything in the code at all except the \Scripts\ part to your folder inside the Arma OA folder. Remember, if you are running Arma OA, it must be INSIDE the OA folder, not the plain Arma 2 folder.

I can't tell if at the end it's a : or a ;. It should be a ;. Also, is Scripts the name of the folder you made inside the OA directory, and is ammo.sqf the name of the script inside your folder named Scripts?

It's the same result but just a little more efficient since you don't have to go to the map and server control. Go to the download section and download Medics 'Cheat system' it has what you are looking for, so it is a good place to start, but I think every Day Z server detects the way it is loaded on start up.

I just installed the ArmA 2 beta patch tonight, now I keep getting cant find script.

Edit- Quite confused, sometimes it cant find script so I quit the game. Do everything the same again join a server and it works. Then sometimes it cant find it..

You need to do it from the map menu/server controls.

You don't have to use a non-detected CE, I use CE 6.1 just fine. Anyways, if you used the code I posted, a small box should spawn a short ways away from you, about 5 meters away. You just have to look around for the box. If you are sure that absolutely nothing spawned, then there is an issue with the code, which you should post here so that people can take a look at it.

Don't mean to get in the way of the current conversation, but to be on topic.

When I'm in Cheat Engine, and I search for vote_kick no results come up and or found. I've tried putting both the program and the game in administrator, but no matter what I do I'm not able to get any results to manipulate.

I'm also using the Steam version of Arma Combined Ops with Dayz installed.

Thanks in advance for anyones help, I'm hoping this is just a simple problem.

Otherwise, this is a fantastic guide to introduce me to the forums! +1 when I can.
